Las Vegas Nightclubs & Dayclubs: The Complete Guide

Nightclubs, dayclubs, and pool parties can feel like a maze of guest lists and velvet ropes if you’ve never done it before. I’m breaking down exactly how Vegas nightlife works, plus the real clubs worth building your night around, from a local who has watched the Strip’s nightlife scene grow up.

Vegas Nightlife, Explained By Someone Who Actually Lives Here

I’ve lived in Las Vegas since I was five, and I’ve watched Strip nightlife go from a handful of lounges to a full industry of its own. Nightclubs and dayclubs are two different animals, and mixing them up is the fastest way to show up in the wrong outfit at the wrong time.

This guide covers how the whole system works: nightclub versus dayclub, guest list versus cover charge versus table service, when to actually show up, and which clubs are worth planning your night around. I’m keeping this one big picture. For the full rundown on any single venue, I’ve got dedicated guides linked below.

Not into velvet ropes? Señor Frog’s, Cabo Wabo Cantina, and Nacho Daddy all bring the party with zero guest list stress.

Know Before You Go

The Terms You’ll Actually Need

Every doorman and hostess uses this language. Here’s what it means.

Guest ListFree or reduced entry

Get your name added ahead of time, usually through the club’s website, a promoter, or your hotel concierge. It doesn’t guarantee a fast line, but it usually beats walking up cold.

Cover ChargeStraightforward admission

A flat fee to get in the door if you’re not on a guest list or booking a table. It varies by night, gender, and how full the club already is, so confirm current cover pricing directly with the venue before you go.

Table / Bottle ServiceReserved seating

You reserve a table with a bottle minimum, which gets you a dedicated area, your own server, and usually a faster entrance. It’s the most expensive way in and the easiest way to skip the line with a group.

Dress CodeEnforced at the door

Most Strip clubs want collared shirts or nice tops, real shoes, and no athletic wear, ripped jeans, or flip-flops, especially on men. When in doubt, dress like you’re going to a nice dinner first.

Arrival TimeEarlier beats later

Nightclubs get serious after 11pm on weekends, so arriving by 10:30 usually means a shorter line. Dayclub pool decks fill up by early afternoon, so a late morning arrival gets you the better spot.

How It Works

Book Smarter, Skip the Line

A few VIP packages handle the guest list and transportation so you’re not standing outside in heels at midnight.

1

Pick your night

Decide nightclub after dark or dayclub pool party in the sun. They book differently and dress differently.

2

Choose your entry

Guest list, general cover, or a VIP package that bundles transportation with skip-the-line entry.

3

Dress for the door

Doormen turn people away for dress code more than almost anything else. Check the venue’s dress code before you leave the hotel.

4

Budget realistically

Cover, minimums, and table pricing all shift by night and season, so confirm current pricing directly with the venue or your booking before you go.

Get It Right

Dayclubs & Pool Parties: Two Corrections Worth Knowing

Nightlife names change fast in Vegas. Here’s what’s actually current.

Wet Republic is now Palm Tree Beach Club

MGM Grand’s dayclub got a full rebrand in May 2025. Tao Group and Kygo’s Palm Tree Crew turned the old Wet Republic into the 60,000-square-foot Palm Tree Beach Club, open Thursday through Sunday, 11am to 7pm.

Hakkasan nightclub has closed

It hasn’t. Hakkasan at MGM Grand is still running Wednesday through Saturday nights, five levels deep, and remains one of the biggest club spaces on the Strip.

Dayclub Spotlight

Encore Beach Club

Encore Las Vegas

If you want the dayclub experience without leaving the Wynn and Encore side of the Strip, Encore Beach Club is the move. It’s a full daytime pool party with DJ sets, cabanas, and daybeds, drawing a crowd that shows up to dance in the sun, not just float in a pool.

Like every Strip dayclub, hours shift seasonally and by day of the week, so confirm the current schedule directly with Wynn before you plan your day around it.

Before You Go

Bring Real ID

Every nightclub and dayclub on the Strip checks ID at the door. A physical, non-expired ID is required, not a photo of it on your phone.

Dress Code Is the Doorman’s Call

The posted dress code is a guideline. The doorman makes the final call, and arguing about it rarely helps your case.

Cash Helps at the Door

Tipping a host, doorman, or VIP host in cash can genuinely speed things along, especially on a busy weekend night.

“Vegas nightlife isn’t about which club is the fanciest. It’s about knowing how the night actually works so you’re dancing instead of arguing with a doorman.”

Bringing the Whole Crew?

Bachelorette-ready nights

If you’re planning a bachelorette weekend, I put together a full guide to the clubs, pool parties, and group-friendly experiences that actually work for a crew, not just a couple. Check out my Las Vegas bachelorette party ideas for the full plan.

For everyone else, pair your night out with dinner at one of the most Instagrammable restaurants in town, catch one of the best shows in Las Vegas, and let the clubs be the finale instead of the whole night. My Las Vegas city guide and itinerary hub can help you build the rest of the trip around it. Planning around a 21st birthday specifically? I’ve got a whole guide for that too: Vegas 21st birthday guide.
