The Lock: Solve Your Way Into a Speakeasy
I’ve lived here since I was five, and The Lock is the most genuinely interactive speakeasy on this list, a vault door, a riddle from the Locksmith, and a puzzle you have to crack before anyone lets you in.
The Lock sits on the lower level of Horseshoe Las Vegas, inside The Cabinet of Curiosities lounge. The entrance is not subtle, it’s a massive bank-vault door standing out against the room’s oddities and curiosities decor. A “Locksmith” hands you a riddle or code challenge before you’re allowed through, which makes this the most game-like speakeasy on my whole list.
Once inside, the room leans into history-inspired cocktails and a secret menu item for guests willing to test the bartenders. The main speakeasy area seats up to five people per booking, with a VIP area available for larger groups at an added reservation fee, and your time inside is capped at roughly 90 minutes to keep the room from feeling crowded.
Reservations are strongly recommended
You can technically discover The Lock by wandering into The Cabinet of Curiosities first, but reservations, especially for groups, are the reliable way in. Use the phone by the vault door to confirm your booking or check for space.

How the night actually works
Get down to the lower level
From the casino floor, head to the back wall near Jack Binion’s Steakhouse and take the escalator down.
Start in The Cabinet of Curiosities
This lounge is the front door to The Lock, order a drink here while you get oriented.
Find the vault door
It looks like a bank safe, not a hidden panel, so it’s easier to spot than most speakeasies on this list.
Solve the Locksmith’s riddle
A staff member in character helps you crack the code for entry, part performance, part actual puzzle.
This is the one I send people to when they want more than just a hidden door, they want an actual game before the drinks start.
