I’ve lived here since I was five, and The Laundry Room predates almost every other name on this list. It just went through its biggest change yet, a sweeping 2026 renovation that split longtime regulars right down the middle.
The Laundry Room is tucked inside Commonwealth on Fremont East, in a space that was literally the El Cortez hotel’s laundry room in a building that predates Commonwealth’s 2012 opening. It was one of the first speakeasies in this entire Vegas revival, long before every casino decided it needed a bookshelf door.
In 2026, Corner Bar Management gave it a full renovation, bringing in head mixologist Davey Francis, a new chapter-based cocktail menu, a crystal chandelier, and roughly two hundred original artworks. The change has been genuinely divisive. Some longtime regulars miss the rougher, old-school Prohibition-era look, while others see it as a needed refresh of a room that was showing its age. Either way, the exclusivity, only around 20 guests at a time, hasn’t changed.
Book two weeks ahead if you can
Reservations typically open about two weeks before your date and fill quickly. Approach the host stand at Commonwealth and give your reservation name, they’ll walk you back to the hidden entrance.

Staff walk reservation holders back to the hidden entrance rather than leaving you to find it yourself.
Trust the bartender
With a new head mixologist and a new story-driven menu, this is a good night to ask for a recommendation instead of ordering off memory.
