First Friday Arts District

Every first Friday of the month, Downtown’s 18b Arts District turns into a walkable block party of murals, live music, and food trucks.

I’ve lived in Las Vegas since I was five, and First Friday is one of my go-to nights whenever I want to show someone the city’s creative, non-Strip side. Once a month, the streets around the Arts District fill with local artists, live painters, food trucks, and music spilling out of every gallery door. It’s free, it’s walkable, and it’s been a real Las Vegas tradition since 2002.

The Vibe

A Monthly Block Party Built Around Local Art

First Friday is a street festival, not a single venue event. Galleries hold new openings, murals get painted in real time, and the sidewalks fill with a genuinely eclectic Las Vegas crowd, artists, families, tourists, and longtime locals all mixed together. It’s the kind of night where you end up wandering into a gallery you’d never have found on your own.

What to Expect

Murals, Makers, Food Trucks & Music

Expect more than 100 local artists showing and selling work, 20-plus food trucks lining the streets, live music on multiple stages, and gallery doors thrown open all along Casino Center Boulevard and the surrounding blocks. In the fall, the October edition often leans into Halloween and Día de los Muertos themes, with costume-friendly crowds and seasonal art on display alongside the regular lineup.

Dates & Hours

When It Happens

First Friday happens every month, on the first Friday, year-round, typically running from around 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. This fall that puts it on September 4, October 2, November 6, and December 4, 2026. It’s worth checking ffflv.org close to your date, since specific stage times and featured artists change month to month.

Before You Go

Getting There & Parking

The festival footprint centers on Casino Center Boulevard between Charleston Boulevard and California Avenue, spilling onto Boulder Avenue and 1st Street. Street parking and private lots fill up fast, so I’d skip driving right into the district if you can. A free shuttle typically runs from the City Hall garage at 500 S Main St, and rideshare drop-off tends to be easiest a block or two outside the busiest streets. Wear comfortable shoes, this is a walking event.
