Peppermill Restaurant & Fireside Lounge: What to Know Before You Go

Neon, mirrored ceilings, and fishbowl cocktails by the sunken fire pit. Pure vintage Vegas with enormous portions and an all-day menu.

If you want to show someone what old Las Vegas felt like, the Peppermill’s Fireside Lounge is where I take them. The sunken fire pit, the mirrored ceilings, the neon everywhere, it has barely changed in decades and that is exactly the point. This place earned a James Beard America’s Classics Award in 2024, and it is still one of my favorite birthday spots for a group that wants something fun rather than fussy.

The Vibe

Old Vegas, Untouched

Tiffany Lamps and a Sunken Fire Pit

Plush royal blue booths, Tiffany-style flamingo lamps, and a sunken fire pit in the middle of the lounge give this place its reputation as pure vintage Vegas. It sits right on the Strip between Wynn and Resorts World, so it is an easy stop whether you are starting or ending your night.

What to Order

The Signature

The 64-Ounce Scorpion

The 64-ounce Scorpion is built for a birthday table, not a birthday person, so order one for the whole group to share with the multiple straws that come with it. It is the classic Peppermill move and always gets a reaction.

The Portions

French Toast Ambrosia and the Peppermill Burger

Since the menu runs all day, the French Toast Ambrosia works any hour, and the Peppermill Burger is a safe, satisfying pick if your group wants something heartier. Everything comes in generous, old-school portions.

Before You Go

The Details

Peppermill Restaurant & Fireside Lounge

Where: 2985 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV 89109, on the Strip between Wynn and Resorts World.

Hours: Monday through Wednesday 7am to 2am, Thursday through Sunday open 24 hours.

Reservations: Walk-ins are common, but the lounge fills up on weekend nights, so it is worth calling ahead for a larger birthday group.

This is one of my 39 favorite spots in my Las Vegas birthday dinner guide, and it is the one I send people to when they want a taste of old Vegas.
