Mexican Food, Tequila, and a Mechanical Bull
Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar sits right on the LINQ Promenade with a wide open patio, a 60 foot bar, and a mechanical bull. If you loved Senor Frog’s for the noise and the fun, this is where I send you now.
I’ll be honest, when Senor Frog’s closed I got message after message from readers asking where the party moved. My answer is almost always Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar on the LINQ Promenade. It has the open patio, the loud music, the wall of tequila and mezcal, and yes, a real mechanical bull. This is one of my top picks for anyone who misses that old Senor Frog’s party energy, and I mean it as a genuine recommendation, not a runner up.
The kitchen still does real Mexican food alongside all the tequila, so it is not just a bar with snacks. Brunch comes with bottomless mimosas if that is more your speed than the bull, and the second floor lounge gives you a quieter spot to land once the patio gets loud. Either way, you are getting a full patio party right in the middle of the Strip.
Ride the Bull, Then Order Another Round
The mechanical bull sits right in the middle of the action, so you can watch a stranger get thrown before it is your turn. It is the kind of thing that turns a table of friends into a small crowd of cheering strangers, which is exactly the Senor Frog’s feeling people keep asking me to replace.
The building itself is built for a party. Floor to ceiling glass doors open the main dining room onto a tree lined ground floor patio, and an enclosed upstairs lounge leads out to a second patio with Strip views. A DJ booth keeps the energy up, especially once Latin Nights start on Friday and Saturday.
3545 Las Vegas Blvd S, inside The LINQ Promenade, next to O’Shea’s Irish Pub and across from I Love Sugar.
Loud, social, and built for groups. Think shareable plates and drinks rather than a quiet sit down dinner. Check the official site for current menu pricing.
A tequila or mezcal flight from that 60 foot bar is the move, then let your table split shareable Mexican plates from the kitchen.
Chayo takes reservations through OpenTable, and it is worth booking ahead for birthdays, bachelorette parties, or anything bigger than a table of four.
Time it right
Go early evening if you want the patio without the crowd, or show up after midnight on Friday or Saturday for Latin Nights and the full party.
