See What to OrderThe first time I walked into Black Tap at The Venetian, it was the graffiti wall and the old-school hip hop playing overhead that got me before the food ever did. It doesn’t feel like a hotel restaurant. It feels like someone picked up a burger joint from downtown Manhattan and set it down in the middle of the Strip. Black Tap opened here in 2018 and it’s still one of my go-to recommendations when someone asks where to eat that isn’t stuffy, isn’t rushed, and comes with a little bit of a show.

The Vibe
A Luncheonette With an Edge
Black Tap channels a classic New York luncheonette but with graffiti art on the walls and old-school hip hop in the air. It’s loud in a good way, casual, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is honestly a relief on a Strip full of restaurants that do.
What to Order
Gourmet, Not Fussy
The burgers are the whole reason people line up here. The All-American is the one most people order first, a prime beef patty with American cheese and Black Tap’s own special sauce. If you’re skipping meat, the Veggie Burger holds its own. It’s not an afterthought patty, it’s genuinely juicy and full of flavor on its own terms.
Dessert You Photograph Before You Drink
No visit to Black Tap is complete without a CrazyShake. These aren’t just milkshakes, they’re built to be a spectacle, and they deliver. The Cotton Candy Shake shows up with a blue and pink pearl necklace, a lollipop, and a cloud of actual cotton candy balanced on top. If you’re a chocolate person, the Brooklyn Blackout is loaded with chocolate chips, brownie bits, and a chocolate drizzle that runs down the whole glass. Fair warning, one is usually enough for two people to share.

Local and International Selections
The burgers get the attention, but the beer list is worth a look too. It runs from hoppy IPAs to smooth stouts, mixing local Nevada breweries with international names, so there’s a real range no matter what you’re in the mood for.
The Dining Experience
What keeps me coming back isn’t just the food, it’s the staff. Everyone I’ve dealt with there genuinely loves talking about the menu, and it makes the whole meal feel personal instead of like you’re just another table on a Friday night. It’s also earned its spot on my list of 39 best places for a fun birthday dinner in Las Vegas, since a CrazyShake with a candle in it is a pretty solid stand-in for birthday cake.

Where: The Venetian’s restaurant row, 3355 S Las Vegas Blvd, right on the Strip.
Hours: Sunday through Thursday 11am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to midnight. Hours can shift around holidays and special events, so it’s smart to check before you head over.
Reservations: Walk-ins are welcome, but this place gets busy, especially on weekend nights. Reserving ahead saves you the wait, and it’s easy to do through The Venetian’s dining page or by calling ahead.
