Ski Lodge: A Winter Hideaway in the Desert
I’ve lived here since I was five and this is still one of the strangest, most fun contrasts on the Strip: a snowy alpine cabin hidden inside a 110-degree desert casino.
Ski Lodge is tucked on the second floor of The Cosmopolitan, connected to Superfrico, the Italian American Psychedelic restaurant from the Spiegelworld team behind Absinthe. Find the brown door with a small bronze skier plaque near Superfrico and Wicked Spoon, push through, and you’re suddenly in a snowy Colorado cabin with a real crackling fire, faux snowfall out the window, and a room full of winter-lodge furniture.
It seats around 75, which makes it one of the roomier speakeasies on this list, but it still fills up fast on weekends. The cocktail and pizza program shares Superfrico’s kitchen, so drinks come paired with warm bites, and the signature shotski, where a group takes shots together off an actual ski, is the move if you’re there with friends.
It does not take reservations
Unlike Superfrico next door, Ski Lodge is first come, first served. There’s no password or booking system, just a queue outside the door that the staff manages. Build in some wait time, especially on weekends and after 8 PM.

How the night actually works
Head to the second floor
From the casino floor, work your way toward the hotel lobby and up to Level 2, near Superfrico and Wicked Spoon.
Find the skier plaque
Look for a brown door with a small bronze square bearing a skier. No sign, no line marker, just the door.
Wait for the queue
Staff at the door manage the line. It moves steadily but can take a while on weekend nights.
Order the shotski
If you’re with a group, the shotski is the signature move here, shots for two to five people off one long ski.
Only in Vegas could walking through a casino land you in a snowy mountain cabin. It’s pure theater, and it works.
