Your phone and watch get locked away before you go in, and specially trained servers guide you to your seat in a pitch-black room. Once your eyes give up trying to adjust, taste and smell take over, and the conversation at the table gets a lot more interesting.

The whole meal is a seasonal, seven-course, plant-based tasting menu, and part of the fun is that most guests genuinely cannot tell it is meat-free. You will not be picking dishes, the courses come to you, and guessing what you just ate becomes half the entertainment.

Hours: Monday 5:30pm to 9pm, Thursday through Sunday 5pm to 9:30pm. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Reservations: Required. This is a ticketed, seated experience priced around $100 per person for the fixed tasting menu, plus drinks, so book ahead, especially for a birthday group.
