Top of the World at The STRAT: What to Know Before You Go

A slowly revolving dining room more than 800 feet above the Strip, so one dinner gets you the whole valley.

This is my go-to when someone wants a Las Vegas birthday dinner that actually feels like Las Vegas. The dining room slowly revolves more than 800 feet up, so over the course of one meal you get the Strip, the mountains, and the whole valley without moving a muscle. I always tell people to book a sunset reservation, because you get daylight, dusk, and full neon before the check even arrives.

What to Expect

The Vibe

A Slow Spin Above the Whole Valley

The dining room turns a full 360 degrees roughly every 80 minutes, so it never feels dizzying, just steady and dramatic. Sitting more than 800 feet above the Strip inside The STRAT Tower, you get a rotating view of the Strip, the mountains, and the wider valley over the course of one meal. It genuinely feels like an occasion, which is exactly what you want for a birthday.

What to Order

Steaks and Seafood, With a View to Match

The menu is international, steakhouse, and seafood, built around fresh, seasonal ingredients. My honest tip: book the earliest sunset slot you can. A sunset reservation gives you daylight, dusk, and full Strip neon before the check arrives, which is the best possible version of this meal.

Before You Go

Hours, Dress Code, and Reservations

Located atop The STRAT Tower, more than 800 feet above the Strip. Hours typically run 4:00 to 11:00 PM, extending to 4:30 to 11:30 PM during the summer months, so double-check the current hours when you book since they shift seasonally.

Dress is upscale. Beachwear, gym attire, sweatpants, hoodies, jerseys, hats, tank tops, flip-flops, and overly revealing clothing are not permitted, and management has discretion on admittance.

Reservations require a minimum food purchase per guest, and there is a corkage fee if you bring your own bottle. Groups of 13 or more need to book through the separate group dining line. Reserve ahead, especially for sunset seating.

This is one of my 39 favorite spots in my Las Vegas birthday dinner guide.

Just Want the View?

You do not have to book dinner to enjoy the tower. This standalone admission ticket gets you the same 800-plus-foot view.
