HeadzUp Vegas Is Closed — The Best Illusion & Trick Art Museums in Las Vegas

The old 3D trick art spot is gone, but the mind-bending, pose-for-a-photo fun is very much alive around town. Here is where I’d send you instead.

More Things to Do in Vegas →

I’ve lived in Las Vegas my whole life, and I always loved sending visitors to those goofy, hands-on trick art museums where you pose like you’re falling off a cliff or getting eaten by a shark. HeadzUp Vegas at the Boulevard was one of those spots — but I want to be straight with you: it has permanently closed, so if that’s what brought you here, don’t make the drive. The good news? Vegas has a few illusion and interactive art experiences that scratch the exact same itch, and honestly a couple of them are better. Here’s where I’d go.

The Update

What happened to HeadzUp Vegas

HeadzUp Vegas — the 3D trick art museum, escape rooms, and archery-tag spot near the Boulevard on South Maryland Parkway — has permanently closed, and that address is now home to a different business. I’m leaving this page up because folks still search for it, and I want you to have somewhere real to go. Skip the drive over there and pick one of the still-open experiences below instead.

Illusion & Trick Art Spots I’d Send You To Instead

On the Strip

Museum of Illusions Las Vegas

This is the closest thing to the classic trick art experience, right on the Strip at 3716 South Las Vegas Boulevard, tucked in between the Cosmopolitan and The Shops at Crystals. You walk through room after room of optical illusions, holograms, a dizzying vortex tunnel, an infinity room, and hands-on brain teasers — and almost every exhibit is built for a great photo. It’s fully interactive, easy to do in an hour or so, and fun whether you’re 8 or 80. Tip: Wear something bright, bring a friend to snap the shots, and go on the earlier side to beat the photo-op lines.

LINQ Promenade

Museum of Selfies Las Vegas

If what you loved about HeadzUp was the pose-with-the-art, touch-everything vibe, this is your spot. It sits right on the LINQ Promenade and is packed with fully interactive, photo-first installations across a big multi-room space — the kind of place where you’ll leave with a camera roll full of ridiculous, fun shots. It’s an easy add-on to a Strip day since you can pair it with the shops, restaurants, and the High Roller nearby. Tip: Give yourself time to actually play with each setup instead of rushing — the best photos take a couple of tries.

Off-Strip · Rancho Drive

AREA15 & Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart

If you want to go bigger, this is my favorite. AREA15 is an immersive art and entertainment district at 3215 South Rancho Drive, just a few minutes off the Strip, with dozens of experiences under one roof. The headliner is Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart — a surreal, walk-through art world disguised as a grocery store, full of hidden passages and secrets to discover. There are free art installations, interactive exhibits, thrill add-ons, food, and events, so it’s an easy half-day. Tip: Omega Mart is a timed-entry experience, so book your slot ahead online, and give yourself at least a couple of hours to explore.

Before You Go

A Few Things to Know

Where they are: Museum of Illusions Las Vegas is on the Strip at 3716 South Las Vegas Boulevard. Museum of Selfies is on the LINQ Promenade. AREA15, home to Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, is just off-Strip at 3215 South Rancho Drive. HeadzUp Vegas is permanently closed — don’t plan around it.

What to expect: All three are hands-on and photo-friendly, so charge your phone and wear comfortable shoes. Most exhibits are family-friendly and work for all ages, and each one is easy to combine with other Strip stops.

Hours & pricing vary and can change with the season, holidays, and special events — always check the official site for the attraction you’re visiting to confirm current hours, tickets, and timed-entry before you head out.
