Tucked into the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street, The Tank is a multi-level pool complex built around a giant shark tank — and yes, when everything is running, there’s a waterslide that sends you on a three-story ride right through the middle of it. It’s the kind of downtown surprise that makes people fall a little more in love with this city.

The Tank & Its Shark Aquarium
The Tank is a $30 million pool complex with multiple pool levels, private cabanas, live gaming, and cocktails — all wrapped around a 200,000-gallon shark tank aquarium at its center. It’s genuinely unlike any other pool in town, and it’s the reason people come downtown just to swim.
The Waterslide & Sharks Right Now
Heads up before you plan around it: the Golden Nugget says the aquarium is undergoing unforeseen maintenance, some of the sharks have been temporarily moved to Mandalay Bay, and the slide is closed for the season while repairs are underway. It’s worth checking the official site for the latest before you visit so you know exactly what’s open.
The Hideout (21+)
If you want something quieter, The Hideout is the adults-only side of the complex — a 21+ pool environment with its own dedicated bar, private cabanas, and daybeds in a more exclusive, laid-back setting. Bring a photo ID; it’s required for entry.
Cabanas, Daybeds & Extras
Beyond the chaise lounges, you can reserve private cabanas (they hold up to six guests), daybeds, jacuzzi loveseats, gazebos, lounge tables, and even fire pits for cooler evenings. Reservations can be made online, and they’re a smart move on busy weekends and hot summer days.
