I’ve watched the Las Vegas Arts District grow up, and Jammyland is one of those spots that makes me love where I live. Tucked into 18b on South Main Street, it started as a mellow cocktail bar built around reggae and rum, and it has grown into a full-on Jamaican-inspired lounge and kitchen. String lights, fire pits out on the patio, and a soundtrack of reggae classics — it feels a world away from the neon of the Strip, and it’s one of my favorite places to send friends who want the real, local side of Vegas.

Cocktails first, kitchen to match

Jammyland brings the bold, spicy flavors of Jamaica to life through a thoughtfully built food and drink menu. It opened as a relaxed cocktail lounge with reggae on the speakers and grew into a dining spot from there. Expect drinks made with quality spirits and fresh-squeezed juices, whether that’s a rum-focused creation or a twist on a classic. Co-owners Danielle Crouch and Allan Katz have always taken a slow-growth approach — getting the drinks and the vibe right before expanding the plates.

Authentically nontraditional island dining

The kitchen leans into what the team calls “authentically nontraditional island dining.” Think shareable plates and seasonally rotating dishes, so there’s usually something new to try. There are options for everyone here, including vegetarian and vegan plates and ital (Rastafarian-style) cuisine. Menus shift with the seasons, so check the official site for what’s on right now.

Rum-shack decor and 2,500+ reggae tracks

The atmosphere is what truly sets Jammyland apart. With reggae classics playing and cozy, rum shack-inspired decor, it feels like you’ve been dropped onto an island porch. Danielle and Allan curated a playlist of more than 2,500 reggae tunes, so the soundtrack keeps every visit a little different. It’s a refreshing, unhurried escape from the glitz of the Strip — grab a seat by a fire pit and settle in.

A rum lover’s happy place

For rum fans, this is a must-visit. The bar showcases boutique, handcrafted rums with flavors from Jamaica, Barbados, and beyond, and many of the cocktails are built around music and culture. Part of the fun is how the drinks are paired to songs, so ask the bartenders what they’re into right now — the lineup rotates, and they clearly love talking through it.
