Clark County is nestled in the heart of Nevada. According to the US Census, the population was over two million as of 2012. Because of this, Clark County is considered the most populous county in the entire state with ¾ of all Nevada residents residing here. The county seat for Clark County is Las Vegas. The 600 sq. mi. basin includes cities such as Las Vegas, Boulder City, Henderson, Mesquite, North Las Vegas and other census-designated places and unincorporated communities.

Clark County is a major destination for tourists, which is why there are more than 150,000 hotel rooms throughout the area. The main area where many people come to spend time and enjoy themselves is the Las Vegas Strip, which has the largest number of hotel-casinos around the entire world.

The county spans 8,061 sq. mi. out of which 169 sq. mi. is water and the other 7,891 sq. mi. is land. There are 20 wilderness areas throughout the county that are key components in the National Wilderness Preservation System. The school district serves the entire county with more than 300 schools, which is one of the largest in the entire country.  The school district is the largest employer in the entire county.

With 33 casinos on the Boulder Strip, 19 downtown, 11 in north Las Vegas and 66 casinos elsewhere, you can find a casino around just about every corner. Casinos employ upwards of 5,000 employees in the area. Because of the diverse fauna and flora in the area and variations in temperature, many people love coming to the area and enjoying the sights it holds in store for any visitors coming to the area.
