Homes for Sale in Mountain’s Edge
A 3,500 acre master plan on the southwestern rim of the valley, built around a mountain instead of a golf course.
What Mountain’s Edge Is Actually Like
The short version, then the details.
Most Las Vegas master plans are organized around a golf course or a man made lake. This one is organized around a mountain.
Exploration Peak sits in the middle of it. The parks, the trails, and the street layout all orient toward that rather than toward a fairway.
I’ve been in Las Vegas since I was five, and I remember when this was nothing but desert past Blue Diamond. It filled in fast.
It was also one of the first large communities here to treat desert landscaping as the design language rather than a compromise. If you’ve only seen the older palm lined parts of town, this reads differently.
Parks, Peaks and Paseos
The open space network is why a lot of buyers pick this over other southwest options.
Exploration Peak Park
80 acres built around a 2,846 foot peak you can hike, with valley views from the summit.
Regional Park
A large Clark County regional park with sports fields and open space, built in phases.
Neighborhood Parks
Nathaniel Jones and Paiute Park serve the interior. Helen Stewart and John C. Fremont are planned.
Paseo Network
Walking paseos thread through the community, connecting neighborhoods to parks on foot.
Still coming: a community center, two more parks, and a magnet high school currently targeted for 2027 or 2028.
The Homes
The widest range of any community I cover.
Two houses can both say Mountain’s Edge and be completely different products.
Dozens of villages, many national builders, nearly two decades of construction. You’ll find townhomes, production single family, larger semi custom homes, and gated enclaves, all under one name.
The oldest villages date to 2004 and 2005, which puts them in the window where roofs, water heaters, and HVAC come due. Later phases are considerably newer. See what’s on the market right now.
Where It Sits
Southwestern rim of the valley, with the Spring Mountains to the west.
That access to real desert is the strongest argument for this part of town. You’re genuinely on the outer edge of the valley, and the mountains are the reason people accept that.
Mountain’s Edge sits on the southwestern rim of the valley in the 89178 zip code, in the town of Enterprise.
How It Compares
Swipe through the communities buyers usually weigh against this one.
Southern Highlands
Built around a private golf club. Mountain’s Edge is built around parks, a peak, and trails. Different organizing principle, different buyer.
Inspirada
Other side of the valley, and later. If your life is oriented toward Henderson, geography settles this before features do.
Canyon Estates
The opposite proposition. A big house behind a gate with no amenities, against an amenity network with dozens of housing options.
Summerlin
The other big west valley master plan, older and larger, with its own downtown. Mountain’s Edge is newer and closer to open desert.

None of that makes one better. It makes them different, and I’m happy to walk you through more than one so you can judge in person rather than from photos.
Mountain’s Edge isn’t one neighborhood, it’s dozens. Two houses can share the master plan name and share almost nothing else.

Shop the village, not the master plan
The single most important thing about buying here. The village determines the builder, the vintage, the HOA, and whether there’s a gate. Two listings both saying Mountain’s Edge can be completely different propositions.
Check the vintage against the systems
The oldest villages date to 2004, which puts those homes in the window where tile roof underlayment, water heaters, and HVAC come due. Ask what year the specific home was built rather than assuming from the community.
Understand the HOA structure
There’s a master association plus village level associations in many cases, so some homes carry two. Because it varies by address, I’d want to pull the current figures for the specific home rather than quote a general number.
Drive the commute honestly
You’re on the outer southwestern rim. The 215 makes it workable, and it’s still a real distance from the north and east sides of the valley. Drive your actual route at your actual time.
Walk the paseos near the specific home
The trail network is a genuine feature, but access varies by village. Some homes back directly onto it. Others are a drive from the nearest park.
Is there still new construction?
It’s substantially built out, so most transactions are resale. Small remaining parcels do still come up, but if new construction is your requirement, options here are limited.
Are there gated sections?
Yes. Some villages are gated and some aren’t. That’s determined at the village level, so confirm on the specific home.
What about schools?
School attendance zones and ratings change, and they can differ by address even inside one community. I’d encourage you to verify current zoning and ratings directly with the district for any home you’re serious about.

I’ve lived in Las Vegas since I was five years old. I’ve watched this valley grow from a small town into what it is now, and I’ve built my career in real estate here. If you’re thinking about a move, I’d love to talk it through with you.
