What Eldorado Is Actually Like

The short version, then the details.

Eldorado is one of North Las Vegas’s largest master planned communities, developed by Pardee Homes starting with a 1990 grand opening and continuing all the way to 2018.

That nearly 30 year build out means Eldorado has real range, from early 1990s homes with Spanish and Mediterranean styling, stucco and red barrel tile roofs, to later phases with brick and stone exteriors and more current layouts.

I’ve lived in Las Vegas since I was five, and I remember when this part of North Las Vegas, sometimes grouped with the Golden Triangle area, was still mostly open desert near Nellis Air Force Base. Eldorado is one of the communities that filled that in.

At nearly 5,000 homes across 1,080 acres, it’s genuinely one of the larger single named communities in the valley, which means there’s a real range of home styles and price points inside it.

None of that makes one better. It makes them different, and I’m happy to walk you through more than one so you can judge in person rather than from photos.

Eldorado is proof that a community built over almost thirty years can still feel like one neighborhood. The homes tell you which decade they’re from, but the streets tell you it’s all Eldorado.

How old are the homes in Eldorado?

It depends heavily on the phase. Construction ran from 1990 to 2018, so ask about the specific build year for any home you’re considering.

Is there one HOA for the whole community?

Eldorado has multiple sub-associations rather than a single master HOA. I’d confirm the exact one for the specific home.

How big is Eldorado really?

About 1,080 acres and close to 5,000 homes, which makes it one of the larger named communities in the valley.

What’s nearby for shopping?

Crossroads Towne Center is close, along with easy access to Meadows Mall, Costco, Walmart and Target.

Is it close to Nellis Air Force Base?

Yes, Eldorado sits near Nellis AFB, which is worth knowing if aircraft noise matters to you.

What about schools?

School attendance zones and ratings change over time, and Eldorado High School is one of the schools in the area. I’d encourage you to verify current zoning and ratings directly with Clark County School District for any home you’re serious about.
